Mike,

If you decide to go the way of closed chamber heads, since you are considering doing hardened seats, you will be getting new valves anyway....  You may want to consider converting to the Aussie 2V closed chamber style heads.   Difference in cost will only be the base castings, as you are planning on replacing everything else anyway......and machining for guide plates.....

Quite a few guys are running them, and they have better low end manners for the street than the huge 4V ports....plus they will run up to 160+ as some guys have done.

I have them on my Boss 302 and they made all the difference in the world to how my Goose runs.

Plenty of castings around.  See the website for the guy that was doing the 400/429 bellhousings... he had a link to someone that was advertising them.  Check ebay too....  Around $300 is a good price. Perhaps less these days.

Just something to consider...... like you need more!!!
