My Sciroccos use what is, most likely, the same pump.   VW has taken it a 
step further, and mounted the pump inside of a thick molded rubber casing, which 
is then captured by a bracket which bolts to the car.   This insulates the 
pump vibrations and cuts down the noise even further.

Regardless of the type of pump you choose, the OEMs have figured out superior 
mounting schemes, and an hour or so spent in the junkyard could yield you 
parts that would be vastly superior to anything you could buy or make yourself.
