A good question, but the fans aren't powerful enough to suck any dirt up
from the ground.  Actually, since they are on either side of the air cleaner
(the lower half--the top half of the air cleaner sticks up above the cover)
if dirt were to be flying around under there, they might act like little
vacuum cleaners and prevent it from getting in the air cleaner, since the
pipes direct the flow of air out the back.
