[DeTomaso] Dip Stick Tube Leak Solutions??

Scott,

As your guide tube now extends only about a half inch into the block, instead of the stock 9+ inches, your dip stick has lost about 9 inches of tube enclosure and thus has also lost that 9 inches of dip stick positioning guidance .

It is possible that the dip stick is curving upon entrance into the oil pan and is actually being pushed upward by the rotating crank assembly.  Before replacing the firewall cover, you might want to pull the coil wire and crank the engine while watching what happens.
