Start by building your house on a slope. All these amenities are easily done
if the garage is under your house. Power, water, heat, AC, Internet Cable,
Satellite, etc, are all right there and easy to access. 30 X 50 is a 1500
square foot house with a nice sized shop under it. A basement is some of
your cheapest space to include in a home. Besides making a nice shop, it
makes access to household services much easier. Add just a 110V receptacle
or a whole bathroom? No problem if you have an unfinished basement and
attic.

Also another tip. NO CRAWL SPACES. Those areas under storage rooms and
porches make nice storage rooms or equipment rooms. Even that little 5X7
front porch. It will make a useful storage closet in the basement.
