[DeTomaso] Holley 750

I had a problem when stopping hard. Flooding. Holly said to run a hose
from one vent to the other with a hole just at the top the curve. That didn't
help completely but it reduced it a little.

Didn't someone on the forum run a hose or extension off the bowl vent that
raised it so high is reduced or elimintaed the problem?

I made a spacer that leveled the carburetor on
the intake. No amount of adjusting the floats would help.

I drove down a back street with the air cleaner removed. I hit the brakes
hard while looking out the back window. Fuel came gushing out the boosters
- I think it was the rear boosters too (been a while - memory is fuzzy).

I tried adjusting the floats up and down to no avail. I even bought vent
whistles only to discover that new Holleys come with them.

Not wanting to machine the intake, I bought a plastic carburetor spacer. I
didn't have to do anything weird with the studs. The spacer fits just fine
with straight studs, the carb fits next. The nut is slightly angled, but
it's only a couple of degrees, so it isn't a big deal.

Of course, that's just one possibility.

Will.

Evidently my keyboard is sticking more than your needle/seats, sorry

needle and seats, etc. it sounds like you are getting more fuel than yo need
and are starting to fllod the engine. Your giving it gas is really just
giving is air (volume) to use your excess gas. Float too high? needle/seat
sticking? fuel flowing out the vent tubes?

slow down to nearly a
stop I start to lose 500 rpm fast and motor shakes. I then must give gas to
pick
up rpm. All ventures are getting fuel. And primaries are fine getting fuel.
Carb is very clean. Help
