[DeTomaso] California driver Pantera for sale--full review, and pantera value from a Norwegians point of view

Mike's review of the car was first rate, anybody that still had questions
after that...well there are Pinto's that are available. That was easily a
$500.00 report had anybody paid for a knowledgeable person to survey the car
( not including travel ).

With the exception of the overpriced Muscle cars ( but hey if I had a Hemi
Superbird, I'd be happy ) most people do better buying an already restored
car.

I've seen it a hundred times at auctions, cars selling for less than the
restorer spent fixing it up, which is probably more often the case.
Research is key and knowing the acceptable range of your budget AND the cost
of repairs, parts, etc. makes all the difference in the world, not to
mention the aforementioned cost of traveling to and from potential examples.

Personally I think that our cars will continue to increase in value at a
better than average collectible car rate as more ( agh..popular..hate that )
cars grow out of reach for the average enthusiast, and like Dodge Super
Bee's and Coronet's, they will also rise in value at some point to where
even we will sit back and wonder just what in the heck happened.

Even in my short three years of being active on the forum, I've seen the
cost of daily drivers and beaters go from 15-20K to 25-35K. Many on this
same list ( which used to P me Off to no end ) talked trash about cars with
selling prices in the 40's, 50's and 60's, Now those prices are common.

Buy'em while you can and I do think a well maintained example is an
investment, if properly maintained and driven responsibly there is no reason
in the world to think that almost ANY Pantera will out perform any lousy
1.5-4.5% CD sitting in a bank somewhere.
