True- aluminum won't last UNLESS you change the anti-freeze yearly. An 
aluminum radiator also won't last unless you do this so it should be standard 
practice anyway. I've not heard of any problems with ss water bottles and this 
comment seems strange seeing as most Panteras nowadays run trouble-free ss water 
lines to cure rusting of the mild steel stock lines. FWIW, in 1972, stock water 
bottles were nickel plated inside and out by DeTomaso, then painted flat 
black. Even the plating didn't completely cure long-term rusting but going to ss 
bottles (and lines) does. Finally, some areas of the country have corrosive 
water; using distilled water makes the problem worse as its more acidic than most 
plain waters. But using de-ionized water should help. A few vendors recommend 
'No-Rosion' radiator additive for their aluminum rads and it will help with 
brass radiators too. Good luck- J DeRyke
