[DeTomaso] 180 sound

The Pantera is rather limited for a crossover pipe. Moost crosover
installation is a pipe
behind the rear swaybar, which ends up with a to long cross-pipe and to fare
back.
If one is luckey enough to end up with the right air volume in the
crossover, is might
sound good, but in moost cases one get terrible resonanse frequensies on the
Pantera.
I cant gice any advice on pipe diameter behind the swaybar, as cam timing
and the
averall exhaust design and silencer is of influence. And I newer bothered to
make up
any calculation for the matter. But I dont recomend it as 9 out of 10 try
has been a failure,
and a good design X-pipe is tricky for the Pantera. I have been asked to
fabricate a
model 180 system for the car that should be duplicated in the USA for the
public.
But I have been thinking it over and over again and can not decide if it
would justify
the time I have to spend and make in to a bill. I put very high demands on
myelf to
put my name on such system not to make people dissapointed.

Or install a "cross-over" pipe to balance the sound.

Well, there is a difference with the set appart and to the side directed
pipes. Especially
if one is standing one side of the road listening to the car passing by.
Even as the sound
turns to a different level at higher rpms:s I should newer use anything but
close straight back
mounted end pipes for 180:s. Or for the sound, better still, running both in

to a single pipe.
Or else the car sounds as a four cylinder heard from the side.
