Is your application sheet metal or a casting? All the ones for sheet metal 
require a tool to properly lock into a hole. Not using the patent tool risks 
having the insert begin spinning when you try to tighten a screw into it. 
Drilling them out while they're spinning is much worse than drilling a loose 
pop-rivit out. Inserts that go into a fairly deep threaded hole are a Rosan, or a 
Keen-sert. The Rosan I described in the Nov 07 newsletter. The Keen-sert is a 
bushing that has 2 or 4 thin hardened pieces projecting up from its top. In 
practice, the Keen-sert is threaded into a hole, then the projections are driven 
down thru the threads. effectively locking the bushing into the hole. Good luck-
