[DeTomaso] market test sale

Sale prices from a year ago are meaningless unless you want a baseline from which to subtract.
If you go to ferrarichat.com you'll see threads on how much values have collapsed in the last few months-- figure 25-40% down on the average for vintage cars with the expectation that they will fall to about 50% of their peaks over the next year. (With up to 80% fall from the really crazy prices paid at auction in the last throes of the leveraged speculator market.)
Fortunately Panteras never went into the stratosphere like Ferraris did, so the "correction" will be much less severe.
The problem with stating a value for Panteras is that virtually none of them are stock and the new buyer may or may not like the changes someone has made. So what the seller views as an improvement may be to the buyer something that has to be redone or put back to factory.

As Charles said, this is not the time to sell unless you are willing to take less for the car.  But no one can say when values will go up, and if you can get a good deal on the house in these bad times it might make sense.

Jim

First I would say that now is not the time to sell your car unless it meant food
on the table. It is a buyers market. Having said that I would track - research
sales of comparable cars
over the last year and use them as a guide. Adding for
special items like 8 and 10 wheels or vendor 17 and 18. Radical engine. Awesome
paint. Range I have seen is from 25K to 100K. Baseline for driver with all stock
parts in #2 condition around 35K. Michael in Savannah

If I were to sell my 1972 totally restored Pantera, what would be the best way
to determine the value.  I have done most of the restoration myself so I have no
labor cost basis.
I can't believe I am thinking about this but a house on the river would be nice.
