I think GM and ford make good vehicles, if you pick the right ones.
I own 20 ford pickup trucks and 1 gmc.
They run great for 100k and I sell them for about $5k.  They cost about 
15cents a mile to drive for the iron. not gas not maintenance.
They do not give me any problems. brakes tires batteries. that is it
You can pay more for a foreign car.  They will cost you more per mile to 
drive.  I am not interested  in running 200k miles on a vehicle.  there are 
too many problems like water pumps ac pumps starters rotors etc. and plastic 
everything
I rented a new malibu. It was a nice car.  Not a $40k $50k lexus or toyota 
but a nice car for the average person.
The greenies will ruin the car companies.
