I agree-- I think your meter is bad. The battery itself is undoubtedly in the 12's, not mid 14's.
Do you keep the battery on a maintainer between drives?
A battery will fail early if it discharges though non-use and sits like that a while-- the plates coat with sulfate and they are ruined.

Both are on the high side. Try measuring another vehicle for reference, you may
have a bad meter.

Some more info - the Optima i am replacing was 2.5 years old and would no longer
take a charge. the new battery was a warranty exchange. 2.5 years also seems
