Try a VW parts supplier. That stuff was widely used between the fenders and body on 
every Bug manufacturered between 46-79.  It's called Fender Beading in VW-land and it's 
very inexpensive.

ALTHOUGH, I think the VW beading is larger than 1/8".  It might be more like 1/4".
