[DeTomaso] CLUTCH CLAMPING FORCE / Dick Ruzzin

Dick,

I think we're somehow talking apples and oranges here. That number sounds WAY too low.  I think 2,000 pounds is more common clamping force for a performance street motor.  But there also is the centrifual assist that many pressure plates have.

Almost every time I ask a tech guy at a manufacturer a technical question I get a useless answer.  They can give you the company line, but they probably don't understand what they are talking about.

If the guy you talked to thinks that all the Centerforce clutchs are heavy, he needs to visit the gym.

Ken

I just got off the phone after a short conversation with a technician at
Centerforce.

All of their clutch packages have 430 pounds of clamping force.
Low pedal pressure is "NOT" a product feature.

All the best,
Dick Ruzzin
