I just stumbled upon this in an overheating thread on the PI board and thought it worth passing along.

There’s a company in New Mexico that can take your Veglia gauges and install VDO 
internals with a matched sending unit. This will make the gauges read correctly and still 
maintain the original look of the gauge set. The poster reports that a friend just did this 
with his car and the set up works great.
