The crank and rods had to be machined. I'm sure if you buy a quality kit 
it'll work out. Just like anything you buy..  if something is much cheaper 
than the others, there's a reason..

I've heard about another gay with the same experience. Did you need to 
machine the crank or the block?

My worries about buying the part separately is to get parts that works good 
together. I'm rebuilding the car myself and it seems safer to by parts as a 
kit...

components induvidually. My last stroker kit was on the cheap side and 
required add'l machine work.
