Mike, using the GPS coordinates of the race track & Reno, it is 39.5 miles and takes 44 minutes per Yahoo Maps.  And it depends where you stay.  The track in Vegas was closer depending where you stayed, making the locations very close in distance.  That's  not close to me and I HAVE driven to the track.  Reno also has traffic.  My point was someone gave the impression the track was close.  Some would precive that as a few minutes from downtown, but that is not true.  MHO!  It is a great track.
