I would have to think that a lot of the repression in prices is due to just the sort of slights like the NY Times article, and the negatives mentioned in the numerous articles that are nothing but stolen ideals from waaaay past articles! No new original fresh material, just rehash of rehash of rehashed carp.

Seems like the authors of this drivel are always talking about "past problems" or the teething issues, and they never actually go experience a modern properly set up car. Always whining, probably because their wives (or salaries) won't let them have a real mans car....probably driving an X1/9 and trying to justify to the world what a great car it is....while getting the doors blown off by Prius's.....

Why worry about hoses and belts that were replaced DECADES ago and can hardly be an issue today! Radiators and fans...maybe...but like the brakes, they are probably more than adequate for a stock car.

Just like ANY car, foreign or domestic, once you start increasing the HP and CI, well, then your problems or shortfalls start increasing as well..... Improvements only find the next weakest link....

I have no kind words for writers like that.....and I think the auction houses fall right into that trap....of believing the old reviews and bitter writers! They actually hurt themselves by writing up such crap! Who cares what it was.....what is it today! That is the car you are selling!

Ciao!
Steve
