FWIW, Mike, alcohol - either methanol or ethanol- will do this to die-cast 
zinc. It also attacks some aluminums, too. Methanol is worse; drag racers that 
regularly run alky have valves to switch to straight gas after running alky, to 
flush the fuel system. You might check on your 'cocktail' ingredients for
