Are you absolutely certain that the #5 and #6 spark plugs are in the
distributor in the proper firing order? If the wires are interchanged, you will have
two dead cylinders for sure. Since the cylinders never fire during a power
cycle, the plugs will stay clean.
I think the fuel pressure, which persists after the engine is shut down, is
30 to 50 psi.
