Yesterday marked another spectacular race day of  the Long Beach Grand Prix 
and although this was the 34th and final of  the Cart series, the event will 
continue as there is a 10 year contracted  commitment. The only thing is the 
race will take on a  different aura as all is now patched up with the IRL, as you 
probably  are all aware of. What you may not know is that Danica flew in from 
Japan  to see the race and held a special press conference right after  
winner, Will Power, and his 2nd & 3rd place runners up were  interviewed: 2nd 
Franck Montagny of Feurs, France, and 3rd Mario  Dominguez of Mexico City.   Danica 
is very petite, spunky and has  a dry sense of humor.  Either that or she was 
still in euphoric shock  and so exhausted from the excitement, long flight, 
no sleep and  a large bottle of sake that was bestowed upon her as a gift from  
teammate Tony Kanaan, shared in the helicopter en route to the airport for  
the flight home. She began to answer questions posed of her from the  press; 
got into somewhat detailed explanations only to end by asking, "What  was the 
question again?" But the fact is, she's the first woman in history  to win an 
Indy race with Saturday's victory at Japan's Indy 300.  And  as she said, the 
record of being the first in history is a record  that lasts a very long time. 
The way she described herself  is a persistent hard worker.  This time she used 
strategy to win what  turned out to be a fuel conservation contest and 
pitched it up a notch to  overtake Helio Castroneves in the last couple laps of the 
race.  She said  she was just doing what she always does, but this time "It 
just happened."   She was humble and appreciative of all her teammates who've 
always been positive  and have always used the terms.. "When you win," not, "If 
you  win."

If Danica can do it surely it's time for another  woman to try the Silver 
State!

& in case that needs explanation... Besides the race, LB is one big  party 
animal party and in the Expo. Center there are countless sponsors and  
exhibitors. Patron had a nice exhibit with tequila shots, margaritas, and  of course 
their own version of chapstick.
