[DeTomaso] Horn troubleshooting advice

I went thru this drill myself, using a VOM, a 12V source and patch cords. 
Starting at the horns themselves, after 3 days, I found that everything worked- 
except the ground wire that comes out of the stalk button, goes through the 
turn signal switch into the wiring loom, then comes back in and solders to the 
backside of the stalk. 
The return ground wire was 1/8" too short so the wire was under tension, and 
the solder had cracked. The fix was to re-heat the original solder blister on 
the stalk while pushing in on the wire from the other side. You cannot see 
this grounding solder connection, at least on '71-74 Panteras. Your GT-5 rig may
