[DeTomaso] Pertronix

I just installed an Ignitor on my 4 cyl Fiat and bought a coil from Pertronix.
Their website describes which coil to use for what application (number of cylinders and race or street), but in the paperwork that comes with the Ignitor it says you have to use a 3 ohm coil or add a ballast resistor.

If you don't know what your coil resistance is you'll have to measure it as per the instructions on the previous post.? If it's 3 ohms you don't need a ballast resistor. If it's 1.5 you do.

My perception is that the 3 ohm coil is safest regarding longevity unless you plan to run really high revs, where that coil may not be able to recycle fast enough to provide spark that fast.
