I can't resist either! Actually, no! Well, not a US car anyway.

The 1971 Panteras (all markets) used switches that had symbology, i.e. a
crude drawing of a light for a light, a fan blade for the heater and radiator
fans, and a dome light for (you guessed it) the dome light.

The 1972-74 US-market Panteras used different switches, with words spelled
out for American customers who weren't smart enough to be able to figure out
that a picture of a fan blade indicated that the switch operated a fan. So
instead the switches are labelled "LIGHTS" "FAN" and "COURTESY". Mechanically
and functionally the switches are the same (except that there are only three
operating switches instead of four, since the second radiator fan was converted
to thermostatic operation), but cosmetically they are different.

So technically, a 1972 Pantera headlight switch isn't similar to the 1971
Pantera switch. :>)

(Note--the Euro market cars used the symbology scheme throughout production).

Mike
