[DeTomaso] Lost Keys - Update

All,

 

Thanks to all who offered ideas and suggestions for getting new keys made
for the P.

 

Still haven't found the originals but took the ignition lock to a local
smith and they were able to make me THREE new keys!

 

Two for the Car and one for the safety deposit box! ! ! <grin>

 

Anyway - found that the lock cylinder already had a spring clip hole so no
drilling of the ignition body had to be done. This hole looked to be
factory, i.e. very small diameter (about the size of a small paperclip).

 

AND THE GOOD NEWS - there was a sticker on the ignition body that had a
handwritten code for the key!

 

So - soon to be driving again and REALLY looking forward to it!

 

By the way the key blank that they used was an ILCO FC7 - works great!
