Bill,
Your voltage readings at your wiper switch are correct. The 6 volt reading
on the Blue wire when you are in low speed position (12V on the Brown wire) is
due to the fact the Lucas wiper has two sets of brushes and you are reading
voltage back thru the high speed winding.
Here is how the pins on the connector at the wiper motor are wired (courtesy
of Mr. Bakken):
I have the wipermotor out of #2293,and checked what color is connected where
and hope this can be of help. Place the motor the way its mounted,and look
in to the motors connector.The one single horisontal pin on top,shall
receive the black wire,the pin nearest under that on the left side,shall
receive the blue,and under that on the left side,the brown wire.Top pin on
the right side shall receive the orange wire,and finally the green under
that,also on the right side. :)

Attached is the wiper wiring diagram in PDF format. The B (Blue) and Br
(Brown) wire labels need to interchanged on the wires going to the motor and the
in the function table below the motor.
