.... or how good it is today. Remember, absolutely anything can be repaired; 
the only determinate is how dedicated and skilled the repairman is. You should 
have seen  Mike Drew's Pantera in its "as-received" condition. He collects a 
lot of flak because he lost (or loses) motivation periodically in its long, 
slow trip back from the junkyard. But on delivery he actually had to sign a 
disclaimer that essentially said, 'this car is a piece of s... and I know it, but 
I'm buying it anyway'! In spite of our differences, I have to give the kid 
credit for rescuing this machine from the tin-worm and the scrap pile. It ain't 
quite there yet but with eons of time, mucho help from everyone he knows and 
lots and lots of money, its close. And so may the 'wrecked' Pantera on E-Bay. As 
you say, an inspection by a disinterested and competent 3rd party is vital.
