Indeed!

TH: De Tomaso Modena

PN: Pantera

L: 1971

S: July

02006: Sequential build number; the first Pantera was #1000, so yours is
the 1006th Pantera built.

Normally the chassis build date and the car's completion date are about a
month apart. The number was stamped in the chassis when the body was first laid
down, up in Turin. The bodies were then trucked down to Modena (250 miles I
believe?) for completion at the De Tomaso factory. This process took some
time, and so it's normal to see about a one-month spread. However Italy shuts
down during the month of August, so it it's possible that a July body has a
September completion date.

That information is found on a white plastic tag attached to the inside of
the driver's door jamb.

Cheers!

Mike
