[DeTomaso] Rear Inner Fender Repair?

I have received a query about replacing the rear inner fenders.  Has anyone
done this task that can offer some advice to Cliff?  I've cc:ed him, so
please use REPLY ALL so he gets a copy directly.

... I have started back on my 73 L model, and am doing a complete
restoration. All exterior body skins, (except the roof) has been removed and
I have made many new parts including the upper rear frame rails and have
just completed fabing up new mid section frame pieces from 16 gauge material
including new inner rockers. I now need to repair the rusted sections of the
uprights from the upper mounting points for the rear a-arms down to the
lower frame. I have seen patch panels advertised for sale but have not been
able to find any articles for performing this repair.
