AJ,
It worked fine for me (using Safari on a Mac) once I got past the "Warning,
Danger Will Robinson!" message that the site certificate is unknown.
In registering on the site, one of the 'mandatory' data items is POCA member
number. I happen to know my number because I carry my POCA Member ID card in
my wallet
(DORK!)
but I doubt that many others do. I would wager that less than 1% of the
club's membership could tell you their member number (it doesn't appear on the
mailing labels for the POCA pubs, only on the annual renewal notice).
So, is this actually a mandatory field, or are you just attempting to track
what percentage of the store's customers are club members?
Overall the site looks fantastic! I do note a flaw however--when searching
on 'back issues' for Profiles, it states that we don't have any. In fact, we
have truckloads of back issues available. You should be getting 50+ copies
of each issue that is being printed right now, plus we have tons of earlier
issues. (Did we ever send 'your' back issues to Texas when Will was briefly
running the store?)
And whatever the POCA store doesn't have, I probably do--I've been storing
issues for the club store (that is, on an overflow basis) since 1995. I would
estimate that I have between 2500 and 3000 copies of various Profiles here--in
boxes in my breakfastroom, livingroom, my bedroom and guest bedroom! (I
really should put them in the attic where I've got plenty of space, but then it
becomes a chore to lay hands on a specific issue when the need arises).
I recognize that it takes time to catalog and list on the website each issue
that you have available, but if you don't want to do that right away, you
should at least change the "not available" message to "contact us with your needs
and we can get you sorted out". :>)
Mike (who would, frankly, be happy to divest himself of the majority of these
back issues!)
