[DeTomaso] Fwd: New Product!

Worst car I have tried getting in and out of is a Lotus Elise with the top
up. It has a high, wide door sill, small door opening, and the seat is lower
than the door sill. Utterly miserable to get in and worse getting out.

Getting my big self in and out of a 300SL is a pain, but it is due more to
the small door space than the hinge on the roof configuration. Getting
myself in and out of a Murciélago is easy, but it has a larger door space.

You don't want to get shiny side down in ether one of them, especially with
the 300SL's 35 gallon fuel tank.

In both the GT ( not ever really named a GT40, that was a nickname, inside
Ford, it was called the J Car, ) and the 300SL, the frame rails and or mono
box structure come up on the sides so high to provide strength and safety,
etc. The now really wide door seals, Think 2x as wide as an XKE, made
getting in and out very hard, so removing a part of the roof was the answer,
one did it from the side and one went straight up, I think Bricklins and
DeLoreans just did it for looks, the Countach has an especially wide
rocker/door entry area too. Never sat in a Gallardo or the other one, did
sit in a MB SLR McLaren, really wide door seal there too!
