[DeTomaso] Fwd: New Product!

Don't mind Mike, I suspect he's just a function drives form guy who can't see any functional reason to have the doors pivot up from the front.  I suppose in Italy, where 100% employment is a national goal, things like this are viewed as socially responsible because they create jobs?  Sure seems like it would make sealing tough.  
   
  I wonder why the gull wing Mercedes were made that way?  Maybe the roof cut outs were required for an average height driver to get in?  Was that the reason for the doors on the GT40?  
   
  Is it easier to get into a car if the doors pivot up?
   
  I have so much left to do that I'll be glad if the doors just close when I'm done.
