FWIW,
 
Changing to 3.2 from 4.22 will reduce the rear wheel  torque to 3.2/4.22 the 
original torque.
 
With 3.2/4.22, which is  approximately 3/4, you have a 1/4 reduction  in 
available torque at the rear wheels.
 
The 1/4 reduction in torque with 3.2 gears will make a 400  ft-lb engine like 
a 300 ft-lb engine with 4.22 gears. With 300  ft-lbs, there is still a whole 
lot of twistin' goin' on.
