[DeTomaso] 3.2 gears and clutch life?

Ken,
According to my calculations, my car with 4.22 ring and pinion, .642
fifth gear and 27" tires should do 180 mph at 6000 rpm, if it had the HP
:-))). Running the 3.77 and .642 should give you 199.8 mph at 6000 rpm.
The 4.22 and .642 at 6700 rpm would give you 201 mph. The 3.77 and 6.42 at
6500 should give you a whopping 216 mph!!! Remember that if you have too
much gear, you could actually reduce your top speed due to a lack of HP.
It seems that most of the modern cars make their top speed in 5th as opposed
to 6th.
