[DeTomaso] The latest on the non-cruise cruise control

We have a great club here with some great folks (they pulled my engine and transmission for me so I could replace the gas tank, then they put it all back in!) so maybe I could convince a few of them to make the trek, too.

My car's previous owner put Recaro seats in it, and they are very good. It's just the legroom that's the problem!

Sincerely,

Chris

I'll have to agree with Mike about Cruise Control in the Pantera! I bought my Pantera to drive not ride. That said, I can under stand about the leg cramps, and I don't know about the rest of the Pantera owners but after about 2 to 3 hour It's time for a break! Especially if you have stock seats. Get gas, soda/coffee, maybe a snack and ready to go again. But Cruise or not, driving the Pantera is the way to get to Vegas! If there isn't other Pantera's around you put the word out and meet up with others along the way and convoy. You'll have a GREAT time! Leg cramps and all!!! 5 years and running Curt

That is one of the saddest things I've ever heard.....

The whole idea of cruise control on an exotic sports car is just laughable to
me. Cruise control is for people who don't have any interest in driving,
and are just using a vehicle as a transportation module to get from one place to
another. Sports cars are supposed to be driven by people who LIKE to be
involved, and like to actually DRIVE their car, not passenger in it.

I admit that droning along a freeway for 12 hours would get a bit tiresome in
a Pantera. But then again, if that's how somebody is getting to Las Vegas,
they're largely missing the point there too!

Mike (600 miles from my house to Vegas, of which only about 30 are on
anything other than two-lane
 roads!)
