Try this without the half shafts. You'll often get pulsing from pad drag on 
one of the rear rotors. About the only other thing that could cause such a 
pulsing feel is warped limited slip clutches, and you could check this by removing 
the pads in the rear calipers, then adding a torque wrench to a wheel nut 
with one wheel up in the air & one on the ground and checking to see if the force 
to turn both wheels is equal (somewhere around 40 ft-lbs). 
I don't think its a ZF problem. The gear teeth are so tough they don't 
distort and chipped gears would feel quite different. Good luck- J DeRyke
