No. The leak is likely where the rubber was swedged onto the steel fitting
that screws onto the caliper, and will be utterly unrepairable. And as Mike
said, laying a wrench on the fitting may well crack it off in your hands. FYI, the
hose fitting screws into an extension that in turn screws onto the caliper
with copper washers as seals. If the extension or washer were leaking, no fluid
would be on the rubber part of the hose. I've seen these hoses BLOW OFF their
caliper fittings with a really hard push on the brakes- like in a panic stop.
OEM brake hoses are consumable items like wiper blades and headlight bulbs-
but are considerably more important in traffic. A set of replacement OEM hoses
are also available from the vendors but being rubber will be subject to ozone
cracking, weathering and old age, so expect to replace them again down the
road. Aeroquip stainess/teflon are forever. Good luck- J DeRyke
