[DeTomaso] Edelbrock Air-Gap Intake

Dan,
     If I recall correctly,  that Pantera script lid is pretty beefy?  If
that is the case,  what about a thin sheet metal cover?  That is what I use.
Another possibility without getting too complicated would be to make a sheet
metal spacer plate to raise up your screen in the rear.  The plate could
attach to your brackets and the screen.  I raised my screen front and rear
to accept as much intake/air cleaner as possible.  My limit at the back was
where the screen came up to the deck lid.  I didn't like the look with the
screen above the deck lid.  You could loosen up your screen,  raise it up as
high as you like,  then measure the distance between the air cleaner and the
screen.  That should tell you how much more air cleaner you can get away
with.  And there is always the dog bone air cleaner.  I removed the dagger
like,  triangular stock brackets and replaced them with some that I made.
Making those brackets fit the way I wanted made my brain hurt :-)
