[DeTomaso] tires for 8s and 10s

Actually they lacked any traction at all and had tons of sidewall flex! I don't know about controllable, I think what I said was they were easy to catch when the back end stepped out, but there was no real consistency to the way they handled. I think the real problem with these tires on your car is that between the lack of traction and the sidewall flex there isn't enough grip to properly load the suspension and allow the car to take a set, hence the lack of consistency.

I vote you put a set of DOT slicks on one of the many sets of campys you have lying around the house for track event use.

Grip is good!

>>>I have had no problems with my quality Z-rated BFG Radial T/A (front) and
not-so-quality H-rated Euro T/As in the rear. Gray Gregory hated them, just
because they lacked the traction that he is accustomed to (full race tires),
but he did report that they were extremely controllable. Yes, there was a bit
of sidewall flex at the rear, but the Toyos will be MUCH better in that
regard, because they are designed to support a much heavier vehicle. I have
handled the 295 Toyos side-by-side with my 305 Euros (both un-mounted) and the
Toyos were noticably stiffer.
