[DeTomaso] NPC Anyone Got a Mini Cooper?

Just for cheap and fun transportation, the SVT Focus or the Cooper S would
be good choices. For handling more like a Pantera plus fuel economy, I would
look for a second generation MR2 - probably a '91 to 94 model. It would
require premium gas and get about 25 - 30 MPG.

My daily beater is a 2001 Honda S2000. It is a bunch of fun to drive and it
is easier to catch than the MR2 when it gets loose on me. Premium gas, 25
MPG. It would probably get better gas mileage if I would stay out of the
VTEC. A 5 year old S2000 would probably cost about the same as the Focus.

I have also heard some good comments about the Solstice/Skye.

Art, if I were looking for a gas saving bad ride, I'd look at Ford Focus
ZX3, there is a ton of stuff available for those cars, I think several have
been rally champions as well. At least in still a relative.
