I'm not sure if you have the same alternator as me but....I got a '1-wire'
alternator from Pantera Performance a while back.  It turned out to be a
95amp GM, internal regulator alternator in which the aluminum housing halves
had been clocked to work on a Pantera.  I was able to reconfigure the
'1-wire' as a '3-wire' by pulling of a black rubber plug that covered two
extra connectors on the alternator body.   I found an appropriate 2-wire
socket at O'Reilly's for a couple of dollars that plugged right in to the
side of the alternator and allowed me to attach the charge indicator light
and a reference voltage wire.

Works great now with full regulator function.

I've tried to call Pantera Performance for the last couple of days but the
line is busy.  My mechanic, however, did manage to get a hold of them and he
told me their technician said there is no way to get the generator light to
work with the alternator I have, and that I need to take it out and just use
the ammeter, or maybe add a volt meter for monitoring the electrical
charging.

Anyone have any comments about this?  Does it sound right?
