Note that SCCA and other sanctioning bodies REQUIRE add-on fuel filters
to be 
on the suction side just so in the event of an engine problem or a fire,
you 
don't have a pressurized container of gas near the most likely source of
heat. 
Competition sanctioning rules-makers tend to write such things due to
serious 
problems found during events. Sure, fuel-injection systems have a filter
on 
the pressure side, but those are also factory installed and are metal
cased 
that can withstand daily operation at 10+ times the pressures our carb
sysyems 
run. IMHO, those cute little glass filters are dangerous & more trouble
than
