FWIW- Holley electric pumps should not EVER be run dry. These pumps (as
well
as Carter who may have sold the design to Mr Gasket/Holley) are
sliding-vane
style and if run dry, the brazed vane assemblies disintegrate. Holley
sells a
rotor repair kit as a std part which should indicate the frequency of
the
problem. If stalled due to debris, there is a small feed wire inside the
un-repairable assembly that overloads and opens like a fusable link,
rendering the unit
permanently dead. And as mentioned, they vibrate noisily even with the
std
rubber shock mount system. Had one on a competiotion car for 10 yrs- no
more!
