"Plowing like a tractor in soft dirt."
I would "guess" one big part driver error and a small bit of car setup.
I was driving my friends RX-7 (which he has setup close to neutral) at a 
SCCA event.  Came charging in to a corner that looked a lot like that one 
minus the concrete barrier, turned the wheel and proceeded to go straight. 
Talk about embarassing.  Not only was it a bone head move but the tires 
hollowing let everybody within a 2 mile radius know exactly what I was 
doing.
