Will, your comment is hilarious! He has replaced the needle and seat
already and this is a new carb. The gas tank was replaced with a fuel
cell and his fuel filter is clean. I'm pretty sure the filter is after
the fuel pump but I'll find out tomorrow. Floats have been set more than
once to verify and they're dead on. Carb is as level as it can be, no
extraordinary angles here.
He's not from Yellowstone but he has a yellow beard.....

Maybe it's seeing a Scion or Honda Element. They sometimes make me
barf.

When you get junk in the needle/seat, it will sometimes geyser. I
haven't
seen it clean itself up, though. At any rate, he might have rust dust
in
his fuel tank. Does he have a good fuel filter - after the pump? Is it
clean?

He might have a sticking float, but I thought they always stuck in the
up
position (no gas) rather than the down position (too much gas).

Are the floats set properly?

Is the carburetor level?

Is he from Yellowstone?

Will.

Subject: [DeTomaso] NPC-Carb boiling fuel?

Hi all,
 I have a friend with a 69 chevelle, 350 with holley (new) 650 dbl
pumper, mechanical secondaries. After the car has warmed up, the carb
will frequently barf up fuel thru the front air horn. This does not
happen with the back bowl. The carb bowls are not so hot that you can't
touch them, they're relatively cool at the time so we're confused about
advice regarding boiling fuel. It's as if the fuel is being pushed from
the electrical fuel pump straight thru the carb, forming a mini-geyser
at the front. Doesn't happen all the time but enough where driving the
car is a dicey proposition.
Any thoughts or advice? Thanks
