Charles,

	kp is kiloponds. 1 kN-m (kiloNewton-meter) = 101.97 kp-m (kilopond-meter).

Subject: [DeTomaso] ZF manual questions

Ok what are these crazy Germans talking about in the ZF manual.
Adjusting the Differential taper bearings they call out a torque on the
flange bolts as 4.2 kpm, and a force to unwind the tape around the
differential of 3.5 to 5.0 kp corresponding to a bearing torque of 20 to 30
kpcm. Is this kilogram force /meter= kpm, Kilogram force= kp and kilogram
force / centimeter = kpcm?
If so why don't they use the good old Newton i.e. 1 kp = 9.8N?
