[DeTomaso] Road trip to Vegas

The idea of doing this is sooooo cool!

  Because:

I drove south for 3.5 hours yesterday and nearly fell off the bottom of our island. I have 45 mins in NW direction before I get wet, about 2 hrs NE, and if I was to go North through Scotland about 8 hrs (and most of that would be due to the winding roads up there)

I did 400 miles in all yesterday. Due to the weather and roadworks it took 7 hrs 40 mins. This was on a Sunday afternoon and nearly all on our Motorways. It rained so much that I didn't turn off my wipers all day.

I was driving a 1996 Ford Escort Van 1.8 litre none turbo. With the gates on the roof, top speed 71mph.

  Pathetic.

Up Side: The van cost £100 and does 55mpg; Yet another down side - It still cost $90 in diesel.

How long would this 2200 miles take you by Pantera?

Does anyone Stateside want to hire a Water Supply Project Engineer?
