[DeTomaso] Timing marks on Flywheel

Hi, I remember an article about marking the flywheel thru the inspection cutout. I assume it is obvious that you get your damper pointer at  0 TDC and put a mark on the flywheel. I want to be able to tell if my brass distr gear is wearing out over time, so I can change it. Thanks Pat Orlando 1972 Yellow Pantera S/N 4011.
