Here is the information I got from the previous owner of my car:
---
The red button in the middle toggles between the clocks 2 functions:

1> 24 hour time of day mode

Set the time by pressing and holding the two outside black buttons.
You'll see a number from 0 - 23 on the left. While continuing to hold
the right button repeat pressing the left button until the hour is
correct (1:00 p.m. MUST be entered as 13). Release the right button and
you'll see a number from 0-59 on the right. Press and hold the right
button, repeat pressing the left button until the minutes are correct.

You have now set the clock

2> stopwatch mode.

Pressing and holding the two outside black buttons simultaneously resets
the stopwatch to 00.00.00.00 (hrs.min.sec.tenths). The right black
button starts/stops the stopwatch. The left black button toggles the
display to either a)sec.tenths or b)min.sec or c)hrs.min. When the
stopwatch is running a red led dot will blink. When the stopwatch is
stopped it will burn solid. If you stop the stopwatch then restart it
will pick up where it left off unless you reset.
